GAZETTE & HERALD: TWO men were bound over for breaching the peace in a drunken brawl at Chippenham's Cappadocia takeaway restaurant on Christmas Eve.
Michael Crook, of Greenway Park, Chippenham, and Ashley Davis, of Church View, Chippenham admitted breaching the peace at Chippenham Magistrates Court last Thursday.
Prosecuting, Louisa Thomas said the two men were involved in a scuffle at the restaurant in the early hours of the morning. Restaurant staff tried to pull them apart and told the men to take their argument outside.
Defending, Matthew Drew said his client, Crook, 21, a student at Wolverhampton University, had been out drinking with his brother.
He said when they went into the restaurant they received verbal abuse from a man sitting waiting for his food.
He said the man stood up, confronted Crook and swung a punch at his client, and a scuffle started.
Mrs Thomas identified 21-year-old Davis to the court as the man who confronted Crook in the restaurant. Crook was bound over for £100 and Davis for £200, both for a year.
