CHIPPENHAM NEWS: RECORD-BREAKING adventurer David Hempleman-Adams dropped into Corsham yesterday to officially open a new IT centre.
The balloonist and polar explorer, who lives in Box, cut the ribbon at Wiltshire College's new facility in the Martingate Centre.
The IT centre features 16 networked PCs and three classrooms offering flexible training for beginners to advanced users. It also offers adult basic education and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses.
Wiltshire College principal George Bright said: "The Martingate development is a significant investment in the future of Corsham.
"The new college centre intends to increase the college's capacity to provide even more education programmes for the people of Corsham and surrounding villages."
The new facility adds to the existing centre in South Place, which offers a wide range of arts and crafts courses.
