CHIPPENHAM NEWS: HOMEOWNERS in Corsham are being warned to stay alert after two similar burglaries in the town.
The burglaries, which took place within the space of five days, both saw the offender search the house before ignoring other property and leaving with just cash.
Sometime during the day on Thursday a burglar used a tool to force open a rear UPVC window of a house in Bences Lane. The offender, who had entered through the rear garden, escaped with around £1,000 after thoroughly searching the home.
Police believe the same person was responsible for a burglary in Pickwick Road on February 17 during which £100 was taken.
Sgt Dave Eddy, of Corsham police, said: "These were not just one-off cases. We've got a suspect for both, but it's just a case of finding the evidence."
