CHIPPENHAM NEWS: PART of a Corsham pub will be transformed into a nightclub tomorrow night as the Pickwick Theatre Company comes to town.

Four men in tuxedos will be taking over the upstairs room at the Royal Oak pub in the High Street to stage the company's version of John Godber's Bouncers.

The one-night-only performance comes as part of the company's aim of taking live theatre outside its conventional surroundings and the cast are hoping for a warm reception.

The comedy sees the four actors portray a cast of over 40 characters, young and old, and both male and female. They include a smooth-talking DJ, lager-swilling lads and dancing girls.

Outside in the freezing cold skulk bouncers Lucky Eric, Judd, Les and Ralph as the tale of a Friday night unfolds.

To add to the atmosphere the audience have been asked to come dressed as bouncers themselves.

Company spokesman Jo Langley said: "When this play was performed at Lea's Rose and Crown recently many people there had never seen live theatre before and said it was much better than sitting in front of the telly again."
