POLICE have warned people not to forget about crime prevention now the Christmas and New Year festivities have ended.
A university lecturer's bag was snatched from his car in the car park at Cley Hill, in Warminster, on Sunday.
The 61-year-old man from Shaftesbury reported the incident to police after the back window of his Silver Skoda Octavia was smashed and a bag and contents worth more than £100 was stolen between 11.30am and 1.30pm.
A police spokesman said: "Our warning is now that Christmas has passed it seems that people are relaxing a bit but the criminal fraternity is not.
"Our advice is do not leave valuables in your car."
