REFERENCE the article in last week's Wiltshire Times about Trowbridge Town Football Club and their bid to develop the ground at Woodmarsh, North Bradley.
Where has club chairman John Fitchen been over the past four years when he states: "We have got great support and there seems to be no trouble any more."
Perhaps he ought to go around and ask the residents of Woodmarsh and Boundary Walk their feelings on the proposed developments, although on past record, public opinion counts for nothing.
At the public meeting four years ago it was stated that there would be only a small number of cars, this number turned out to be, on some occasions, in the hundreds; also there would be no permanent structures on the field, there would be no charge to enter the field as there are several rights of way.
We were also misinformed regarding how often there would be activity on the field which has resulted in the quality of life for residents deteriorating.
As Mr Fitchen lives near open fields perhaps he ought to have all this activity on his back doorstep and see how he would like it disrupting his peaceful weekends!
MR WHEELER
Trowbridge.
