THE Swindon branch of the British Korean Veterans Asso-ciation has a new secretary.

Bert Davey, 67, who lost his brother Tom in the 1950-1953 conflict, has been elected to take charge of the group.

The former secretary, Jack Howard, died in November.

Mr Davey, of Wootton Bassett, said: "I want to continue the excellent work of Jack, who strived to raise the profile of this conflict. A lot of people were unaware that British troops had fought and died in Korea

"It is still referred to as the Forgotten War by many."

The group meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 11am at the TA centre in Church Place.
