THE Mayor's charity bridge competition will be held tomorrow.
The tournament, which has been running for eight years, takes place at the Civic Offices in Euclid Street and pairs and individuals have been invited to turn up and take part.
It takes place between 10am and 4pm and all money will go to mayor Derek Benfield's charities.
Players are invited to enter in pairs, although individuals can enter and be paired up on the day.
The entry fee is £7.50, which includes lunch and drinks. There will be shields for the morning and afternoon winning pairs, for the day's highest winning bid, and overall winning pairs.
The bridge played is under the Chicago rules, meaning players can talk during games, said organiser Phil Rashid.
Mr Rashid said: "At most bridge clubs you are not supposed to talk you indicate the bidding sequence.
"This competition has become known around Swindon as a one where you can discuss things. I wanted to introduce this because it's very sociable."
In the first year of the tournament 16 people played but up to 60 people have taken part over the years. So far this year 36 have signed up but anyone is welcome to attend on the day. Call organiser Mr Rashid on 07759 565956 or 01793 882057.
