Ref. 28858-44SCIENCE fiction fans flocked to Swindon town centre to meet stars from the cult TV series Stargate.
Hundred of followers filled the Brunel Shopping Centre, many queuing for several hours, so they could catch a glimpse of Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson) and Christopher Judge (Teal'c) at Infinitely Better memorabilia store yesterday.
Stargate buffs Adrienne Gasson, 19, from Penhill, and her fianc Anthony Johansen, 21, waited all morning for the sci-fi sensation.
Adrienne said: "I've been here since 8.45am and my legs are aching. But it's definitely worth the wait. We both love the show and are thrilled to have its stars in Swindon."
Fellow enthusiast Donna Harding, 35, from West Swindon, and her husband, Andrew, 38, brought their five children along to queue for the coveted autographs.
She said: "The living room is packed when it comes on. We watch it without fail."
Michael, who plays an archaeologist, and his co-star Christopher were in high spirits for their first visit to the town.
Michael, 33, said: "It's great here. We have just been to a brilliant Beefeater restaurant and we are very grateful for all these fans."
Living in Vancouver, he was unfased by the scattering of snow.
He said: "Unfortunately we don't have time to go sledging. Our next stop is Glasgow."
Christopher hinted at what lies ahead in future Stargate programmes. He said: "Nudity. I can't reveal any more."
