CATs coach Mark Simmons has tipped Sherbourne for the Dorset and Wilts Division One title after watching his side lose to them on Saturday.

For the first 40 minutes it looked as though the hosts might carry out a shock win as they raced into a 16-5 half-time lead, but the league leaders proved their title credentials by producing a blistering comeback after the break.

Simmons admits Sherbourne were just too good for his side.

He said: "They were the better team although by half time we could have been about 25 points up.

"They stepped up their game in the second half and put us under some real heavy pressure.

"I can see why they are title favourites and on this display I would tip them to beat Bradford to the championship at the end of the season."

After conceding an unconverted try on three minutes, CATs settled to totally dominate the first half.

The visitors did not help themselves by having two players sin binned and it was no surprise when Arron Brailey drove over the line for the host's first score.

Winger Danny Wells missed the conversion but made up for it minutes later when he finished off some good work from the backs to take the score to 10-5.

CATs could have been out of sight by half time had it not been for an erratic display of kicking from Wells.

The winger kicked two penalties before the break but should have added a few more to his tally as they went in 16-5 up at half time.

Sherbourne came out in the second half looking a different side as they began a remarkable comeback.

They scored three tries and two penalties to keep themselves at the top of the table.
