ANDREW Higgins has warned Beziers to expect Bath to be in a 'filthy' mood for their Parker Pen Challenge Cup quarter-final, second leg clash.

Former Bristol flyer Higgins claims the Zurich Premiership leaders were dismayed by their performance during last weekend's 24-19 first leg loss in France and intend making amends in front of their own supporters tomorrow. (2.15pm).

A horror first-half showing at the Stade Mediterranee left Bath 24-3 adrfit and in serious danger of being out of contention at the tie's halfway stage.

Olly Barkley's boot and a Simon Danielli try pulled them back into it but Higgins admits that it was that first 40 minutes that has left his teammates with furrowed brows.

"It was a bit confusing last week,'' said the 22-year-old, scorer of six tries so far this season. "We knew their (Beziers) forwards would be strong, but they were a bit more switched on than us.

"The players were filthy about it after the game and I think filthy might well come out this week, but not in a dirty way.''

Bath will still start as favourites to progress to a last-four meeting with either Montferrand or Saracens.

And Higgins is confident, despite a couple of below-par efforts against Colomiers and last week.

He added: "The bad performance is out of the players' minds now.

"We have had games where we have not been switched on, but we have managed to pull out victories and that is testament to the squad.

"We've only had two defeats this season and everyone is using last week's as a positive thing.''

Bath have been fined £10,000 following the late cancellation of a Zurich A League match.

The punishment, imposed by England Rugby Limited, relates to a game between Bath and Wasps at Marlow just before Christmas.

An ERL statement read: "Bath cancelled the game on the morning of the match due to a large number of injuries within their squad.

"The cancellation of the fixture at such late notice left a large number of schoolchildren, who were planning to watch the match, disappointed, and gave a very poor impression of the Premiership.

"The cancellation also detracted from the credibility of the Zurich A League.

The Zurich A League features second/development teams, and is contested by England's Premiership clubs.
