Dave TitcombeYOUNGSTERS in Highworth need someone to lead their campaign to build a skatepark. So far, the Highworth Sk8ters have raised £7,000 by holding events such as skateathons, car washes and quiz nights.
But current chairman Rob Mountain has now relocated to Wokingham, and a new leader is needed.
Someone is also needed to take over as secretary as Mr Mountain's wife Julie previously filled that role.
The group is currently looking for a suitable location for the park.
They originally hoped to build it at Highworth Rec, but the plans fell through, so they are casting their net elsewhere in the hope of setting up some ramps.
Dave Titcombe, a member of the group, said: "The problem is that other members are too busy to take on the role of chairman.
"Having said that though, we all pitch in to help, so whoever comes forward won't be on their own.
"The young people of Highworth desperately need a skate park.
"There is just nothing for them here."
