BATH'S preparations for today's Parker Pen Challenge Cup quarter-final, second leg clash against Beziers suffered a late blow when Mike Catt was withdrawn from the team.
Catt was due to make his second start of the season, his first since limping out of the 13-12 win at Leicester back in late November.
But having been selected at fly-half, the World Cup winner suffered a twinge in his calf during the final training session yesterday morning.
"It has been touch and go with Mike all week," said head coach John Connolly.
"It is disappointing for Mike, but we are hopeful that he will be fit for next weekend's Zurich Premiership game against London Wasps."
Olly Barkley moves from inside centre to take Catt's place with Kevin Maggs coming into the centre and scrum-half Hentie Martens joins the substitutes.
Two other changes see David Flatman for David Barnes at loosehead prop, while James Scaysbrook replaces Michael Lipman at flanker.
Bath: Balshaw, Crockett, Maggs, Higgins, Danielli, Barkley, Wood, Flatman, Humphreys, Bell, Borthwick, Grewcock (capt), Beattie, Scaysbrook, Feaunati. Subs: Blake, Mears, Stevens, Malone, Martens, Lipman, Fidler.
James Forrester returns to the Gloucester line-up for the final Heineken Cup Pool Five game against Benetton Treviso at Kingsholm tonight (5pm). The 22-year-old replaces Junior Paramore after an ankle injury.
Gloucester: Goodridge, Garvey, Todd, Paul, Simpson-Daniel, McRae, Gomarsall, Woodman, Fortey, Vickery, Eustace, Brown, Boer (capt), Buxton, Forrester. Subs: Collins, Deacon, Roncero, Cornwell, Paramore, Page, Fanolua.
