GAZETTE & HERALD: ONE fire officer was slightly injured and the driver of a milk tanker was taken to hospital, following a collision on the A350 near the Plough crossroads on Monday morning.
A fire engine from Chippenham's Spanbourn Avenue station was returning to the station following an incident on the M4 and was travelling slowly in heavy traffic towards the Safeway roundabout, when it collided with the back of an articulated milk tanker.
Early reports suggested the tanker driver had swerved to avoid another motorist who was trying to join the single line of traffic from the filter lane.
