A'SUPER' star, his manager and several unsung heroes are determined to make Swindon Town simply unbeatable for the remainder of the campaign.

It is a tall order but Andy King and his players are in no mood to surrender their long unbeaten run which now stretches back to Boxing Day.

Two goals from Sam Parkin saw off Tranmere Rovers 2-0 at the County Ground last night and victory made it 10 matches without defeat for King's men.

Town's leading marksman Parkin said: "Some supporters might be waiting for us to slip up but we're going into every game full of confidence.

"The manager said before the Tranmere game that he wants us to stay unbeaten and that has to be the aim.

"The law of averages says we will come a cropper at some stage before the end of the season but we're determined to try and avoid it happening.

"If we do slip up then hopefully we'll have enough points in the bag for the play-offs or even be in an automatic slot.

Parkin added: "I would imagine that the three sides above us will have taken note of the fact that we've won again and hopefully won't be relishing playing us.

"We're going along really nicely and it might soon be the case that people begin to see us as dark horses."

As for Parkin's manager, he is excited by his team's stubborn refusal to accept defeat and sees no reason why the current run should grind to a halt.

King said: "They are a team out there, a team enjoying each other's company and that's a good sign for success.

"The likes of Parkin and Mooney keep getting praise but there are unsung heroes, make no mistake.

"Look at the amount of ground Matty Hewlett covered against Tranmere. I could go on.

"The test of the side will come, as with all good sides, when there's a blip, but the games are running out.

"But we've used silly quotes like you can go unbeaten, it happens.

"As for me, it's very, very pleasant to work with a team in this mould and I hope it continues.

"Still, this game has a habit of biting you when you least expect it.

"Me and my players will do everything we can to try and make sure it doesn't.

"Brentford provide the next test for us on Saturday and it certainly won't be an easy one."
