SALISBURY College is teaming up with BumbleBee Promotions to keep live acts playing in the city while the Arts Centre remains closed.
The music will be aimed at 14 to 40-year-olds and will feature major bands as well as established local acts.
Darren Smith, of Andover-based BumbleBee Promotions, said: "Since the Arts Centre has been closed, there has been no major venue for up-and-coming live music in Salisbury.
"By using the college, we can bridge the gap.
"Hopefully, it will become a major venue in its own right.
"The aim is to try and target the up-and-coming acts that are touring the country's universities and colleges.
"Recent acts in this category are Feeder and The Thrills.
"These acts are now big but it would have been great to see them when they were small.
"It would also be great for the college, as it would enable potential students to enjoy its lively social scene before they were old enough to actually attend - it would give them a taste of college life."
The first event is due to take place at half-term (mid-February) and is likely to include at least one college band in the supporting line-up.
