Calne Lions Club decided on donations to four organisations totalling £800 at its monthly meeting last week.
The fundraising group is donating £250 towards the Disabled Sports, which will be held in Blackpool later in the year.
A further £500, split 50:50, was donated towards setting up an eye camp for treating conditions such as glaucoma, and a water well in a third world country.
Calne Lions also set aside a donation of £50 for the Special Olympics, which will be held in Glasgow in 2005.
Lion member, George Lawson, said: "The Lions Club of Calne has served the community for the past 32 years and the larger portion of the funds raised has been used to improve the life of many of our local residents.
"We wish to continue to provide this service, but to do this we need to look for new members." If you would like to join Calne Lions call (01249) 813357.
