POLICE want to hear from anyone who was driving along the Tidworth to Ludgershall road on Sunday evening and may have seen a silver Peugeot in the minutes before it crashed killing one of its occupants.
At about 8.30pm midway between the two villages the car left the road on a corner and crashed into a tree.
Soldier Robert Paul Wright, 20, who was stationed at Tidworth, was certified dead at the scene.
He had been a passenger in the car that was being driven by a 19-year-old soldier, also from Tidworth, who police have not named.
The driver received minor injuries and was taken to Salisbury District Hospital and was released after treatment.
Traffic officers from Salisbury said they wanted to speak to anyone who saw the crash or who was driving along the road shortly before 8.30pm and saw the silver Peugeot being driven between the villages.
Anyone with information should contact PC Adrian Ridley at the Salisbury police traffic office (01722) 435356.
