A MOTHER'S Day Crocus Walk in aid of the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity will be held at Coate Water Country Park.
The walk, on March 21, has been organised to support the charity's programme of researching and promoting awareness of an illness which still kills thousands of women each year.
Coate Water's walk is one of thousands to take place up and down the country.
As an added bonus, financial giant Norwich Union has pledged to match the sponsorship money raised by participants, up to a total of £100,000.
Coate Water Crocus Walk organiser Glenys Timms said: "A Crocus Walk is a wonderful way of getting family and friends involved in a healthy, fun and satisfying activity, which helps to raise funds for breakthrough at the same time."
More than 40,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed every year in the UK. Breakthrough has established the country's first dedicated breast cancer research unit, in partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research.
The Coate Water walk will begin at 10am, with participants asked to assemble at the country park car park.
