THE first Fairtrade town sign is being erected in Faringdon today.
The town is the first in the south east to be awarded the status, which rewards its record for selling Fairtrade products.
A range of events have been organised during Fairtrade fortnight to celebrate the mark's 10th anniversary.
Wantage MP Robert Jackson and Faringdon Mayor Dee England will place the Fairtrade road sign at the Town Gates on Park Road at noon.
Impressionist Rory Bremner will also be appearing at a Mad Hatters' Tea Party next Wednesday at 4pm at Faringdon Folly.
