THE owner of Croft Gallery, in Old Town, is warning other shopkeepers in the area to be aware of thieves after his digital camera was stolen.
A man and a woman came into Francesco Gregorace's gallery in Devizes Road at 5.15pm on Wednesday.
As he chatted to the woman in the gallery upstairs he was unaware a man was downstairs but he heard a loud noise and went downstairs to investigate.
He saw the man but could not see anything missing.
After the couple left that he realised his Fuji MX-1200 digital camera was missing from his desk.
Mr Gregorace said: "This couple are working together as thieves.
"They caught me unawares, which is exactly what they aim to do."
The couple were in their early 20s. The man was about 5ft 8ins with dark hair and wore baggy clothes.
The woman was slim, about 5ft 6ins and wore an anorak with the hood pulled up.
Mr Gregorace said he recognised her and he believes she is local.
