Ref. 29348-40HAYLEY Mackenzie has proved she is a cut above the rest.
The 17-year-old from Park North has been named Wiltshire trainee hairdresser of the year.
Hayley, who has worked at Cre'8 Hair and Beauty Studios in Greenmeadow for 18 months, beat 20 other contenders to claim her prize in the level two class.
The teenager, who was presented with her award by TV stylist John Foster from Channel 4's The Salon, was thrilled.
"I've never won anything in my life," she said. "I like creating different colours and styles and seeing someone coming in with boring hair and leaving with mad hair."
Cre'8 Salon Manager Theresa Chandiram said the award was well deserved.
"Hayley is a perfectionist and near enough is never good enough for her," she said.
The competition, organised by hairdressing trainers Span, also recognised Sarah Bashford, a trainee with Swindon hairdressers A Cut Above, who won the level three class.
