Ref. 29317-08Swindon Artists' Society's latest exhibition features around 50 pictures by local artists.

The work is on show at the North Swindon Library at the Orbital Retail Park off Thamesdown Drive until March 14.

Pat Matthews, secretary of the artists' society, said: "We are a small group who meet every now and then to exhibit our work.

"I'm very proud of the exhibition. It features some great work from some of the most talented local artists."

All of the paintings are individually priced. Most items cost between £100 and £120 and include local scenes.

Mrs Matthews said: "There is a really wide variety of paintings on show from watercolours to oil paintings to pastels."

The society holds several exhibitions every year and is planning to hold another one in the autumn at the Wyvern Theatre.

The society welcomes newcomers and would like to hear from anyone, whatever standard.
