LYNEHAM Junior School has been praised by Government inspectors for providing a good standard of education.
Pupils were found to achieve above average for similar schools by the time they leave, especially in English.
A high proportion of teaching was deemed good or excellent with pupils behaving well and having excellent relationships with staff.
Headteacher Ian Tucker was said to enthuse and encourage staff.
He said: "Everyone associated with the school is delighted with the way the Ofsted tuned into the buzz and vibrancy of its stimulating learning environment."
The report also stated: "The school has good links with the local community and gains considerable benefits from the involvement of personnel from the RAF base."
But the report also identified a number of areas for improvement.
The achievement of boys was consistently lower than that of girls.
The report said: "While the school has known about girls performing better than boys for some years, there have been few effective measures taken to counteract this tendency."
