A TRIO of globe-trotting brothers have been reunited on the rugby pitch for Wootton Bassett more than 15 year after their last appearance together.
The Wakeley clan Ian, Stuart and Andy featured in the Stoneover Lane club's third string's league meeting with Salisbury 3rd.
Ian had returned from New Zealand to see the brothers' ill father Laurie, who is in the Prospect Hospice.
And he donned the Bassett colours again at outside centre to join his siblings for a run-out against their Wiltshire neighbours.
Andy said: "The last time we actually played on the same side would have been in the late 1980s when we all played at Supermarine.
"Since then I have played for Waterloo in Liverpool, Stuart lived in Canada for 18 months where he played for Oakville Crusaders and Ian has played for a team called North Shore, near Auckland.''
Against Salisbury, Andy was at hooker, while Stuart was on the wing for the clash that Bassett won 47-0.
Andy added: "The other two scored tries and Ian actually set up Stuart's.
"My role as a front row foward tends to dictate I spend time winning possession and keeping it, rather then using it.
"But I only felt left out in the pub afterwards when I couldn't stop the other two talking about their scores!''
