BRADFORD Town proved a thorn in AFC Stratton's side again beating the Premier Division leaders 2-1 on Saturday to end Stef Kuczynski's team's long unbeaten league run.

Having beaten Stratton in the cup and drawn in the league earlier in the season, Bradford came up trumps again winning 2-1 at home.

Stratton boss Kuczynski was very disappointed saying: "I can't take anything away from Bradford they deserved their win.

"They were up for it a bit more than us on the day. It didn't help our cause by having a player sent off, but saying that I think we played better with 10 men. Had we scored our goal a bit earlier perhaps we could have got a draw.

"It's a hard place to go to get a result and some of the other top sides could struggle there."

Stratton fell behind after 15 minutes when Stuart Powell netted from a corner.

The visitors fought back but were held by a solid home defence and, on 57 minutes, fell further behind when John Burt headed in a second to settle the home sides nerves.

Stratton then had Tony Dyer sent off but clawed a goal back when Robbie Broadbanks netted what turned out to be no more than a late consolation.

Title rivals Trowbridge Town failed to take advantage of the Stratton's defeat held to a 2-2 draw by visitors Westbury Utd Reserves.

Trowbridge had a poor first half and found themselves 2-0 down at the break Andy Goodenough and Jamie Bradley netting before being sent off moments later.

Bradley was later sent off and in the second half Trowbridge looked a different side.

Ricky Trott got a goal back before Walid Bakali netted an equaliser on 85 minutes.

Cricklade failed to sparkle in their game at Shrewton and were beaten 3-0. Ian Pearce and Alan Maggs gave the home side a 2-0 lead at the break before John Chenoweth added a third in the second half.

Second-placed Purton substitute Adam Woolford came off the bench to score a late equaliser in his side's 1-1 draw with Corsham.

Aldbourne were beaten by a single goal at Warminster Stuart Beggs' cross finding the net via a deflection from a defender.

Wroughton lost out at Marlborough, Mark Love's side going down 3-1 to goals from Neil Robinson , Steve Dean and Justin Guinierie.

In-form Chiseldon Castrol looked favourites to record another good result against Melksham but the visitors scored an early goal from Mason and, despite creating quite a few chances, could not get back on level terms.

Malmesbury Vics came good at home to Pewsey Vale Reserves, beating the visitors 6-2 thanks to a hat-trick from Ed Wilkins. Further goals from Andrew Mitchell, Stuart Greatwood and Darren Walsh completed the rout.

Biddestone reached the semi finals of the Corsham Print Senior Cup in an exciting 4-3 victory over Devizes Town Reserves.

After trailing 1-0, Biddestone fought back to lead 4-2. But, in a frantic last 10 minutes, Devizes pulled a goal back and almost grabbed an equaliser.

Steve Healey, Ollie McAninch, Dan Sharman and Jamie Lyons were on target for Biddestone.

Junior Division 1 leaders Trowbridge Town Reserves were made to fight hard for their 5-2 win by Wroughton Reserves, scoring two late goals to clinch victory.

Second-placed Bromham beat Westside 1-0 to keep the pressure on the leaders Danny Powell scoring the winner in a fairly even contest.

Wootton Bassett United's title hopes took a knock when they were beaten 3-0 by AFC Stratton Reserves at the Crosslink Centre. Anthony McCusker (2) and Ian Fowkes scored the goals.

Aldbourne Reserves and Wanborough United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw as did Calne Town and Sherston.

Blunsdon United beat neighbours Cricklade Town Reserves 7-1 on their own ground. A hat-trick from Pete Grifiths and goals from Craig Green, Danny Pearson and Danny Ward plus an own goal did the damage.

A goal 10 minutes from time by Robert Griffin enabled Ferndale Rodbourne to run out 3-2 winners over Biddestone Reserves.

Earlier strikes from Griffin and a goal from Jason Johns had levelled the scores at 2-2.

Lee Bicknell and Brad Mildon netted for Marlborough Reserves in their 2-0 win at Down Ampney.

Trax are the new leaders of Junior Division 2 following a 4-0 win over Clarendon and Tidworth with goals from Wayne Petrie (2), Steve Jones and Damien de Bono.

West Swindon dented New College's title hopes, holding them to 1-1 draw. Ryan Wheeler scored for the home side and Arron Paproki for the College. Goals from Sam Wells, Kevin Smith and Dave Howell gave Lower Stratton a 3-2 win over Pinehurst OB.

Goals form Tom Kopinsiki and Gary McKenna gave SKS Blyskawica a 2-1 away win over QTSwindon.

Dwain Baker (2) and John Le Strange netted for Blunsdon Reserves in their 3-0 win over Westside Reserves.
