I fully support the fight to keep the Shaw Post Office open. It is a vital amenity of every day life. Tesco are showing that they care more about profit than people, the Post Office will take up floor space that they can fill with goods and so make more profit.
It shows the new face of Tesco in general, proving once again that their main concern is profit not their customers needs. In taking away this Post Office they are making the public in general suffer.
The closure does not just affect the 90 or so residents of George Tweed Gardens, or mums with young children, but all people living in the area who need the services of the Post Office.
I feel the new face Tesco has to look very carefully at itself to see just where it has lost the plot, and get back in step with the image and service that made them what they were in the past.
It is time that the caring public image they claim for themselves is made available to 'the man in the street.'
