Chippenham kicked off the defence of the Bath Combination Cup with a 55-3 victory over Avon.
Chippenham, a couple of leagues above their hosts, soon settled at Batheaston and opened the scoring in the first minute through winger Darren McMillan.
Avon, the Somerset Premier League side, responded with a penalty but Chippenham were soon back on the attack with skipper Rupert Crockett going over.
Dan Reynolds converted and then kicked a penalty for a 15-3 lead, and that was extended when veteran winger Jocelyn Barnes crossed over, Reynolds again converting.
Crockett scored his second try to make it 27-3 at the break, and Barnes scored his second early in the second half.
Loosehead prop Graham Treen got in on the scoring, with the other tries coming from flanker Scott Sherratt and full-back David Spiers, and Reynolds kicking the balance of points.
