MINETY defeated Chippenham 20-5 at under 11 level, in what was an entertaining game.
Both sides played their part in an absorbing contest and Minety skipper Katrin Garland took the decision to play into the elements in the first half.
Minety quickly took control of the game although the cold and wind led to a number of handling errors on both sides.
The first try came from an inter-change between backs and forwards and that allowed Minety scrum-half Ben Thomas to pounce.
The Minety forwards continued to dominate the set pieces, with stand-in hooker Tom McCulloch producing an impressive display.
Their second try came from wing Will King who skipped in from halfway, and Nick Skelton's efforts were rewarded with the third Minety try to make it 15-0 at half-time.
Chippenham rallied in the second half, but winger King still managed to stretch the lead with his second try before they grabbed a late consolation score.
Minety'S under nines slipped to two defeats in their matches against Chippenham and Trowbridge.
In a close-fought match with Chippenham, the lead changed hands on a number of occasions before Minety were edged out 6-5, Thomas Howitt (4) and Gregg Hall their consolation scorers.
The second match was keenly fought with Trowbridge narrowly edging the first half one try to nil.
In the second half Trowbridge proved too strong and ran in four more tries beofore Minety's late response from Dellum Murray.
A combined under seven/eight side took on a strong Chippenham under seven side and just ran out winners by nine tries to eight.
A fantastic game ensued with both sides running in some great tries.
A real end-to-end game saw Minety's captain, Will Reynolds, lead from the front, with impressive tries coming from Garin, Luke, Alexander and Will.
