FORMER Swindon Town star Neil Ruddock is hoping to score a chart hit this weekend with a charity single recorded after his stint on the TV show I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
The single, Jungle Rock, was made with fellow jungle inmates Lord Brocket and Mike Read after Peter Andre dropped out to release his own single.
Nicknamed the Jungle Boys, the trio are hoping for a slot on Top of the Pops with the single, which will raise cash for each of their charities Tommy's, Sargeant Cancer Care for Children and the Cliff Richard Tennis Foundation.
"Everyone knows I love singing," said Ruddock, who built a reputation as a soccer hard man during his career on the pitch with South-ampton, Spurs, Liverpool and Town.
"Aside from that Tommy's is a charity close to my heart and I'm proud to raise even more money for such a worthy cause. My brother lost a premature baby and this charity does so much good work for the families during that difficult time."
The single, released by Wool-worths on their Bushtucker Records label, also includes the I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here theme tune and the three-time hit The Lion Sleeps Tonight.
It is out now.
