TWO years ago, the Conservative councillors allowed the Labour budget to be adopted by sending their councillors on holiday. Last year with a split vote they got one of their councillors to abstain on the second vote. This year when a Lib/Dem was taken ill they paired one of their councillors with the Lib/Dem (very touching).
Why did Mike Bawden say he would have resigned if the Lab budget had been below five per cent, could it be because, if he had to run the council with a smaller budget he would get some stick over cuts in services.
This year's budgets have convinced me of one thing, Frank Avenell is a Tory stooge! Why is a Conservative budget of 6.3 per cent, with cuts in services acceptable when a Lab Lib/Dem budget of 7.3 per cent sends him into a frenzy?
It only means an extra 83p a month for a C band dwelling.
