LAVERSTOCK & Ford were unfortunate not to cap their last home game of the season with a win against a resilient Fleet Spurs.
The contest proved the proverbial game of two halves with Fleet dominating the first period.
Laverstock were behind within ten minutes when goalkeeper Liam McConnell brought down a visiting forward near the goal line, and they made no mistake with the spot kick.
Toby Giles' clever low shot was the closest 'Stock came to an equaliser when it hit the post with the 'keeper beaten, and Spurs were two up just before the break courtesy of a looping header with the home defence static.
Giles started the second half in the middle and Steve Haugh went wide as Laverstock forced corner after corner. But Fleet blocked and tackled at crucial points. Eventually the pressure told when Haugh was bundled over in the box and Elliott Wykes converted the penalty.
With half an hour to play, 'Stock laid siege to the Spurs goal, but could not find a way through.
Giles fired wide, Haugh and Ross Nicol had shots saved and Graham Mankin headed past the post.
Fleet's 'keeper made the save of the game from another Mankin header and Colin Banks' shot was somehow blocked by a defender.
On Saturday Laverstock head to Castle Street for their Lord Bledisloe Cup Semi-final (2.15pm), while the reserves entertain Andover New Street reserves (3pm).
