NORTH WILTS YOUTH LEAGUE: IT was a big day of cup semi-finals this weekend, including the Evening Advertiser- sponsored under 10 competition.

The final will see Highworth Juniors from the North Division meet Stratton Juniors from the Central Division.

Highworth made it through after a 2-0 home win over Purton, George Hughes scoring both goals.

The other semi-final was an excellent and hard-fought game at Meadowcroft between Stratton Juniors and Fairford A, Stratton winning 1-0.

Stratton claimed the only goal after 15 minutes with Nathan Lee scoring after fine work in midfield by Karn.

Under 11s Cup

SHAW'S dream of the treble stayed on track after a 3-1 semi-final success at home against Brunel Boys.

The prolific Dominic Rekowski put Shaw in front midway through the first half. There were no further goals until the closing stages of the match, when Rekowski scored two more to give him his hat-trick.

In the other semi-final it was an all Stratton affair when Stratton Juniors Orange met Stratton Juniors Gold and it was the Orange side from the North Division who won 5-0. On target for the Orange side were Jeremy Marsh (2), Will Smith (2) and Nathan Richens.

Under 13s Cup

FAVOURITES Westlea Wanderers are another side who kept dreams of a treble alive after their 3-0 win at Fairford.

On target for the Wanderers were Sam English, Stuart Hillis and Kris Worley.

They were joined in the final by Eastville Boys, who had a hard fought 3-2 win against Brunel Boys.

Under 14s Cup

THERE was a tight affair as expected in both semi-finals in this age group.

A goal scored in the last few seconds by Stratton forced the entertaining game between Westbrook and Stratton Juniors into extra time.

Matt Hobbs scored the 'golden goal' to win the tie.

In the other tie Wroughton beat Ferndale 3-1, with goals from Adam Burson, Khalid Naseem and Matt Purse.

Under 15s Cup

CHAMPIONS Stratton Juniors made it through to the final after trailing Liden 2- 1 at the interval.

Stratton took the lead early on through Tom Underwood, who rifled home Scott Large's corner.

Liden deservedly equalised through Matthew Howell. Liden then took the lead through Ricki Clark, but Lee Curtis equalised.

Two strikes from Steve Nicholls followed, the second a superb effort, to put Stratton in the ascendancy.

The game was finally put beyond Liden when Rory Sproule made the final result 5-2 to Stratton.

In the final they will meet Ferndale Rodbourne who were 4-0 winners away against Robins.

Under 16s Cup

THE final will be between the two big guns Shaw A and Liden Community.

Liden were comfortable 4-0 winners against Shaw B, while Shaw A were made to work hard by visitors Stratton Juniors but always looked the more assured side.
