SCREWFIX FIRST DIVISION: TWO goals from Alan Griffin took Corsham to a comfortable victory on Tuesday night.
After beating second place Bitton on Saturday Corsham continued where they had left off and were never in danger of losing to their Bristol opponents after Dave Kilmurray's opener.
It was Weston who started the brighter of the two sides with former Bristol Rovers midfielder Darren Ward looking lively, but for all their early possession they failed to create any clear-cut chances.
After weathering the Weston storm Corsham took the lead on 30 minutes with their first attack. Dan Beck split the visitors defence with a superb through ball to allow Kilmurray fire home past the advancing Timothy Malessa.
The home side stepped up a gear after the break and within a minute of the restart Kilmurray could have extended the lead. Ben Highmore made good ground down the left before crossing to the striker who volleyed over from close range.
The points were effectively sealed on 65 minutes after a good move involving Highmore and Scott Lye.
Highmore worked his way down the left before playing a ball inside to Lye who showed a good touch to take the ball in his stride. He cut the ball back from the by- line and Kilmurray's shot was saved by Malessa but Griffin was on hand to score from the rebound.
It was 3-0 two minutes later when Griffin collected a throw from Frank Coleman, turned and fired a shot from the edge of the area into the bottom corner of the net.
