GAZETTE & HERALD: CONTRACTORS hope plans to change a grassy field into a wild flower meadow will come to fruition in the summer.
The Castlefields Canal And River Park project was awarded an £8,480 grant in January from the People's Places scheme. Contractors will remove 2-in of topsoil from the 3,000 sq metre site at the entrance to Castlefields Park, next to the River Marden, and CARP volunteers will then sow the wildflower seeds.
CARP hopes work on the land, which is owned by North Wiltshire District Council, will be completed by the end of Easter so in the summer townsfolk will be able to enjoy the new meadow in full bloom.
CARP project manager Tony Key said: "I now hope this will move the project forward from being simply a vision to a becoming something tangible."
