YOUTH pop bands battled it out against each other and raised money for a sports area in Urchfont.
The battle of the bands competition featured five local bands and took place at Lavington School on Friday night.
More than 200 teenagers enjoyed the performances by The Dendrophiliacs, Phase One Theory, The Finkles, The Joeraffe Experience and The Cave Tramps.
The evening raised £600 towards the Youth of Urchfont's (YoU) proposed multi purpose all weather recreation area.
Jack Maidment, 17, chairman of YoU and lead singer of The Dendrophiliacs, said: "It was really great to have the chance to perform in public to such a large and enthusiastic audience. I think it's so important that we can personally contribute to the fund-raising for this new recreation area that we so desperately need."
YoU wants to create a Tarmac surface with a fixed hoop to play basketball and netball at Urchfont playing fields and is working with Urchfont Parish Council. The area could also be used by skateboarders.
