GAZETTE & HERALD: SHOPPING mobility scooters locked away following a row between the council and Emery Gate, should be available to shoppers again from April 2.
The scooters and wheelchairs have been in the basement of Emery Gate since September 2003, when the shopping centre said it was no longer able to operate the service.
But shops in Borough Parade have now stepped in and agreed to take over the scheme.
Bookings will be supervised by Dianne Moore, the manager of the Thornton's Signature store in Borough Parade.
Bookings can be made by either phoning Thorntons at Signature on (01249) 462189 or by visiting the store.
