The Government has granted North Wiltshire District Council a £680,000 planning delivery grant in reward for its radical turnaround in planning performance.
Cllr Doreen Darby, lead member for planning, said: "This is brilliant news for the council.
"Two years ago planning was assessed as being eighth from bottom, now we are the top performing district council in the country."
