TEDDY bears are welcome at Wiltshire libraries next week as part of a bedtime reading event.
Children can bring their stuffed toys along to evening storytime sessions being held at Melksham and Bradford on Avon.
Libraries across the county are holding free storytelling sessions, complete with cups of hot chocolate and torches, to try and encourage children to develop a love of books at an early age.
Children's librarian Sarah Hillier said: "Books open the door to an almost infinite number of worlds that will fire the imagination of those who read them.
"We want to encourage children and their parents through these bedtime reading events to make regular use of the huge variety of books, videos, CDs and other items we have available.
"These events form part of our commitment to providing an efficient and comprehensive library service for people in Wiltshire."
Melksham library is holding a bedtime story event at 6pm on Monday for children under six.
At Bradford library children aged four to eight are invited along between 6pm and 6.30pm on March 19 for an evening that will include the chance to win a teddy.
