TRIBUTES have been paid to a town gardener who died at the wheel of a truck halfway through his round.
Derek Marlow, 52, had maintained public areas and gardens in Warminster for West Wiltshire District Council for over 20 years.
He died of a suspected heart attack on March 1 and his family held a cremation service on Wednesday.
Warminster town councillor Les Rose said: "I really don't know how the town is going to replace him. He was extremely willing and he will be greatly missed.
"When he came down Grovelands Way I would always bring him out a coffee and a biscuit. He was the kind of person who kept everything ship shape in the town."
Mr Marlow, originally from Corsley, leaves a wife and daughter.
