CHILDREN in Bradford on Avon have got their favourite toy back after a 10-month wait while a flying-fox in Sladesbrook playing field was repaired.
Town councillors are pointing to a change of management of the play area as the reason for the playground equipment finally being mended.
The playground is owned by the Llewellyn-Palmer Trust and managed by Wiltshire County Council children's department.
Until recently Humberts managed the site for the county council but after pressure from town councillors responsibility for maintaining play equipment has been taken back in-house by the children's department.
Cllr Malcom Hewson said: "The last straw was the fact that it has taken nearly 10 months to repair the flying-fox overhead zip-wire; but there have also been difficulties in placing and clearing allotments."
