POLICE have issued a fresh appeal to trace a man who hurled a bottle at a barmaid in a Bradford on Avon pub, breaking a bone in her hand.
Sally Henley, 21, a barmaid at The Beehive on Trowbridge Road, has never had problems with customers in the pub in her two years behind the bar, and was shocked when the drunk man turned on her on December 30.
She said: "This isn't the sort of pub where there is trouble and I just wasn't expecting it.
"My hand has taken three months to heal and I was a bit edgy coming back into work afterwards."
The man left the pub with his friend and two dogs after a row with the landlord, when he argued he was owed money for a meal he had ordered.
He ran back in and hurled the bottle at Miss Henley, who turned away to avoid it. As she shielded her face the bottle hit her hand, breaking a bone.
He then threw a solid glass ashtray at the bar, narrowly missing one of the regulars.
Following extensive inquiries Bradford police are no closer to finding the man.
PC Gary Jones said: "We believe the offender could be a member of the boating fraternity living on the canal. Perhaps someone knows him or remembers the incident and this might jog their memories."
The man is described as in his late 30s, 5ft 5ins, with very short blond hair. He was wearing a black leather jacket.
Anyone with any information should contact Bradford police on (01225) 862222.
