CHIPPENHAM team boss Robbie Spiers insists the club's second string are quietly confident about their Dorset & Wilts 2nd XV Cup Final meeting with Swanage & Wareham on Sunday (2.30pm).

The Swans will be the hot favourites at Salisbury, having lost just one game this season.

The south coast side are also averaging 46 points per match this term, but Spiers reckons county rules could come to his side's assistance.

The clubs' respective first string tackle each other in South West Two East league action tomorrow and no players participating in that clash are allowed to take the field on Sunday.

Spiers, who will join a coachload of fans making the trip from Chippenham, said: "We're happy to keep them to a close game, but we're also in with a good shout.''

CALNE field a junior team for the first time since recently launching their youth section.

The under 14s play their Melksham counterparts at their Recreation Ground this Sunday (10.30am).
