Mike Ruddock was yesterday named as the man to replace Steve Hansen as Wales coach. Ruddock, currently coach of Celtic League side Gwent Dragons, has secured the job ahead of hot favourites Gareth Jenkins and Mark Evans.
Llanelli Scarlets coach Jenkins and Harlequins boss Evans were thought to be the sole contenders, but Ruddock emerged on the rails to be appointed.
A former Wales A coach, he has enjoyed successful spells with Swansea and Irish provincial side Leinster.
Hansen will step down as Wales coach after the RBS 6 Nations Championship to be New Zealand assistant coach under former Wales supremo Graham Henry.
