Premier Division leaders AFC Stratton got back on the winning path with a 3-1 away success over Malmesbury Vics but were made to struggle at times in the second half.
The visitors were two goals up following strikes from Justin Lowe and Gerry Wright and they could well have added to their tally with better finishing.
The home side pulled a goal back with a good finish from Paul Wilkes and the Swindon side began to struggle as the Vics pushed forward looking for an equaliser.
But with five minutes to go, Gerry Wright scored a third to settle the nerves.
Stratton boss Stef Kucynski was none too pleased with his side's second half performance and said: "I thought we were sloppy, we let them back into the game and made it difficult for ourselves.
"In saying that, I'm not taking anything away from the Vics they battled well and scored a good goal."
Title contenders Trowbridge Town were in action at South Marston against Wroughton who had one of their best games for weeks despite going down 3-0.
New boss Mark Love was pleased with his side's performance and said: "It was a tight game, two mistakes in the second half cost us but we battled well and I was quite happy with the performance.
"We gave a few of the young lads from the reserves a go and they did well, it's something to build on."
Trowbridge took the lead midway through the first half, Walid Bakali curling in from a tight angle.
Five minutes into the second half, Bakali struck again when his harmless-looking effort crept under the keeper's body and Mike Little let fly from 25 yards to complete the scoring.
Aldbourne caused an upset, beating Biddestone on their own ground 3-1, much to the delight of manager Pete Orsi who said: "The lads were really on the boil and played well."
The home side took the lead from the penalty spot through Jamie Lyons early in the game, but a superb 30 yard strike by Steve Hewlett levelled the scores shortly after.
Just before the break, Tommy Hunt was on hand to tap in following a goalmouth scramble and Hewlett added a second after the interval to make sure of victory.
Chiseldon Castrol gained a well-deserved 2-0 success at Pewsey, Phil Burchell scoring both goals to chalk up the club's sixth victory of the season.
Struggling Cricklade Town got back on the winning path at Warminster beating the home side 2-1.
Striker Ben Carter got both goals and Dave Watkins was on target for the home side.
Westbury United are enjoying a good run and kept it up with a 2-1 win over Purton Reserves .
Andy Goodenough and Steve Mundy gave them a two-goal lead at the break, Simon Pugh netting for the Red House side in the second half.
Shrewton Utd Reserves were awarded two penalties at Marlborough, helping them to beat the home side 3-2.
Robin Simpson and Justin Guinerie scored for the home side and Ron Eugine and two spot-kicks from Mike O'Donnell for United.
Bradford Town continued their rich vein of form, beating Melksham 4-1.
Robbie Simmons scored a first-half brace and Tom Pang and Stuart Powell added further goals in the second half.
In the match of the day in Junior Division One, AFC Stratton Reserves failed to halt the good run of second-placed Bromham and were beaten 2-0 by two first-half goals from Danny Powell and Nathan West.
League leaders Trowbridge Town Reserves gained a 5-2 win over visitors Down Ampney, thanks to a hat-trick from Lee Anthony and two from Chris Gittens.
Wootton Bassett United stayed in the title hunt with a 2-1 win over Sherston, Gary Loveday and Ian Curtis with a 30-yard volley on target.
Ferndale Rodbourne were 2-1 down with 10 minutes to go at Cricklade, but scored twice to secure victory .

Biddestone and Marlborough Reserves shared the points in a 2-2 draw and Calne beat Aldbourne Reserves 4-0 on their own ground.

Swindon Asians beat QT Swindon 3-0, Ali (2) and Sahota netting and New College accounted for Pinehurst OB 3-1.
John Edmunds. Terry Bohaine and Neville Williams scored for the College and Andrew Walsh replied for OB.
Blyskawica did well to beat Minety 5-1 on their own ground and Neil Lee scored in the last minute for Green Baize against Chiseldon Castrol Reserves.
