CALNE picked up their third Division One win in eight days to climb up to eighth in the table.

Glenn Armstrong netted the only goal at Bremhill View as Kelvin Highmore's charges beat visiting Chard.

Calne had dominated the first half, with Armstrong seeing two long-range efforts well saved by Stuart Paris.

Chard improved after the break and bossed possession for long spells but the home side countered to deadly effect on 70 minutes.

Sixteen-year-old Ricky Summers raced away down the right flank and crossed for Gary Banks who teed up a grateful Armstrong.

It was a dismal day for Wiltshire in the Premier Division though, as both Devizes Town and Melksham Town were comfortably beaten.

Dave Hopkins' Devizes crashed to a 4-0 loss at Barnstaple.

Bryan Trugden shot the home team ahead on the half-hour mark and Karl Curtis doubled the lead with a superb overhead kick on the hour.

Andy Combes then put through his own net and Kevin Squire hit a late fourth.

Melksham were beaten 2-0 at Bridgwater with Bradley Peters and Shane Kingston on target.

Leaders Paulton Rovers extended their advantage to eight points in the top flight with a 2-0 win over Brislington.

Premier Division title chasers Bideford remain on course for a double after a storming comeback in their FA Vase semi-final first leg.

Competition favourites Winchester twice led by two goals in Devon.

But the hosts came back to earn a 3-3 draw, leaving the tie finely poised ahead of next Saturday's second leg.

AFC Sudbury were 3-2 home winners against Colne in the other semi.
