CRICKLADE Museum may be given a new home to attract more visitors.
Town councillors will consider relocating the collection from the former chapel in Calcutt Street to alternative premises.
It currently houses a collection of items relating to the town from Roman to modern times, including a large number of maps, photographs and archives.
Coun Brian Atfield said: "It is a rather old building and creating the right atmosphere for keeping the artefacts is always a problem.
"And it is at the bottom of Calcutt Street which is not an ideal spot.
"It would be better in the High Street or where there are more passers-by.
"It also needs repairs to various things like the windows and brickwork."
Town councillors will identify suitable buildings at tonight's meeting of the community and leisure committee.
Other issues for discussion will be fishing rights at Fairview Fields and the lease of the Rugby Club.
The public are welcome to attend the meeting, which takes place in the Ockwells Building at 7pm.
