IN response to the question in EA on March 9, about should the council employ more dog wardens.

The answer is definitely yes. I have written to your letters page before trying to shame a lady dog walker who persistently allowed her dog to mess outside my house.

I have also telephoned the dog wardens' office and asked for a patrol in Park North but I was told that my request was impossible.

Every day last week I have had to clear dog mess away from my front gate. I have two daughters, aged nine and three, and my eldest has made a joke recently that I sound like a scratched record, as all I seem to say is "mind the doggie poo".

Considering my children's school is less than 200 yards from my home, we are practically dodging dog mess with every step we take.

There are plenty of dog bins in Park North and nappy sacks (to scoop the poop) only cost 99p. There really is no excuse for these inconsiderate dog walkers to dispose of their animals' mess.

I noticed in the Neighbourhood News section last week that the dog warden patrolled Abbey Meadsand cautioned five dog walkers.

So I think that other estates of Swindon should be given the same entitlement.
