Corsham County Primary School will compete on the hallowed turf of Twickenham after overcoming stiff opposition to win the final of the Bath Community Powergen Tag festival.

Corsham, who defeated St. Phillips Primary School, will represent Bath and take on winners from the 12 Zurich Premiership clubs at the Powergen Cup Final on April 12.

Corsham and St. Phillips were tied on points and tries after the round-robin tournament that included Winsley Primary and Walwayne Court, so a play-off took place with Corsham victorious by four tries to two.

Meanwhile, Supermarine's mini section paid a visit to the home of English rugby.

More than 30 young players and parents went to Twickenham to enjoy a tour of the stadium and see the Rugby World Cup trophy that England won last November.

The youngsters with coaches Steve Bartlett, John Lewis and Sally Huggins were kitted out in their polo shirts and baseball caps, provided by sponsors P & O Excavations and A & R Paget Limited.

IN weekend action, Supermarine took on sides from Wallingford and Grove and their under 10s were beaten five tries to two by Wallingford.

The under 12s were also up against it, losing 10-0 to Grove and 21-0 to Wallingford.
