SWINDON were beaten 53-22 by Wallingford in treacherous conditions at Greenbridge Road.
The hosts made a fine start, Ben Loosmore opening the scoring before Nick Cozens ran the length of the field for the second.
Loosmore converted and Cozens soon added his second try for a 15-7 interval lead.
But against the wind, Swindon fell away badly after the break, Loosmore crossing for their only second-half score despite an impressive debut from Ashley Ogborne and good performances from the promising Matt Sanders and Tom Hatch.

SWINDON'S mini section headed to Melksham to take part in a rain-affected Cooper Avon Tyres festival at the weekend.
The under nines produced their best displays of the season, despite drawing 0-0 with Trowbridge and losing 2-0 to Bradford on Avon.

IT was a similar story for Swindon in this age group, as Trowbridge scored five unanswered tries in the first match.
Against Bradford, Harry Reece and George Bates crossed in a 4-2 defeat before play was abandoned because of the weather.

Under seven
Ieuan Whelan and Josh Lee both scored hat-tricks as Swindon saw off Trowbridge 6-4 in their only clash.

SWINDON minis travel to Bassett this Sunday, as do the under 13s.
